Our Germany excursion takes us to Munich, the doorway to Bavarian history and culture.
By rail we arrive from Frankfurt to the Central Station in Munich.
Like most of European cities, maneuvering through Munich requires the use of trains, subways, trams and buses.
Ostbahnhof bus station is a few minutes from our accommodations with Ms. Frauke Krampitz who is part of Charlotte's Bed & Breakfast.
Ms. Krampitz and friend Hannes take a picture moment as my camera timer snaps a photo. They were friendly, knowledgeable and made our stay in Munich seemed like home. Thank you Frauke and Hannes, you made us feel like part of your family.
Tram 17, an above ground rail bus is our means into central Munich about 10 minutes from our stay. It's an economical means of travel while in the city.
Marienplatz, city hall plaza, is the center of old Munich. It is situated in a pedestrian zone with a plethora of shops, cafes, street vendors and hordes of tourist.
This is the town hall (not a church) tower. At midpoint is the Glockenspiel, a revolving figurine of knights and royalty that chimes at 3 times a day.

Inside St. Peters Church a candle table for prayer intentions.
A Bavarian Romanesque style church, St. Peter's beautiful interior shows the church's cultural and spiritual history.
